      • Elizabeth Gamble Miller ha dedicado gran parte de su extensa labor de traducción a la obra poética y narrativa de_Nela Rio._Su actividad no solamente incluye la publicación de sus traducciones y de sus estudios críticos sobre la obra de_Rio,_sino que también ha presentado ponencias en congresos nacionales e internacionales, ha organizado paneles de traducción dedicados a la poeta, y desde hace más de 18 años participa en The International Bilingual Readings, de la_American Literary Translators Association_con la presencia de_Nela Rio._También ha incorporado la obra de_Rio_en sus clases de literatura en la Southern Methodist University, Dallas (Texas, EE UU).

      • Finalista en el Texas Institute of Letters Soeurette Diehl Fraser Award for Best Book of Translation for 2004 por su traducción de_The Space of Light/El espacio de la luz_(29 poemas y 6 cuentos de Nela Rio).
      • Finalista en el Concurso de Traducción de Luz en arte y literatura con la traducción del poema "Time of Permanence/Tiempo de permanencia." Fue publicado en Luz en arte y literatura 11: 93.
      • Finalista del International Quarterly, Crossing Boundaries 1997 Translation Award por su traducción del cuento "Lucrecia". Publicado en Disordered Houses: Surrealism and Beyond 3.1 (Tallahassee, Florida): 95-99.
